How to upgrade AceKard 2i to work with DSi(XL)1.4.2 and 3DS2.0

It’s complained by some game players  that they got errors in using this new update recently, especially for US and JP version.
But the AK Team Points out they fully tested this update patch on Japanese and US 3DS without any problem.
So here’s some suggestion for you guys

1.First of all,please make sure you did the update 100% successfully for your Acekard 2i.

2.Please do this update again according strictly to the following guide:

What you will need to update your AceKard 2i Card?
1.A DSi Console with Firmware lower than 1.4.2 (1.4.2E, 1.4.2J, 1.4.2U & 1.4.2A) e.g 1.4,1.3 or 1.2  OR
a DS Lite Console
2.AceKard 2i Card Loaded with latest Firmware AKAIO1.8.7
3.Firmware Update of AK2i for 3DS2.0 and DSi1.4.2
To Check Your DSi(XL) or 3DS Firmware Version:
Click ‘Setting’ on the Main Menu
In the right hand corner of the top screen it will say Ver 1.X or Ver 2.X
STEPS:
1.Unzip ‘ak2ifw_update_3ds_v2_DSi142.zip’ you will then have two files:
Updating via DSi(XL) use :  ak2ifw_update_3ds_v2_DSi.nds
Updating via DS Lite use :  ak2ifw_update_3ds_v2_DSL.nds
2.Copy the file you need to the root directory of the Micro SD memory card.
3.Place the Micro SD back into the AceKard 2i Card and insert into DSL/DSi(XL)(lower than 1.4.2) Console
4.Select the Micro SD Card icon (from the main operating system on the AceKard 2i Main Screen)
5.Select the ak2ifw_update_3ds_v2_DSi.nds/ak2ifw_update_3ds_v2_DSL.nds
6.Follow the on screen instructions (Press Start to update until 100% finished)
Complete!! You have a working AceKard 2i with DSi Firmware 1.4.2 and 3DS 2.0

What is DSi V1.4.2 Firmware for ?

Since Nintendo did a new upgrade (V1.4.2) firmware to the DSi console, lots of DSi owners begin to be afraid that their current r4 cards does not work any longer. Like some questions, “How to Get Your DSi V1.4.2 Work ? “, “Are there any r4 3ds cards which support DSi V1.4.2?”, “can R4 XL card support Nintendo DSi V1.4.2?”, ” can AK 2i works on the DSi V1.4.2 firmware ? “, ” how to get r4 card work on DSi ? ”

Thus, there are some new codes need to be embeded in the r4 card’s chip. For some teams, it seems to be quite easy to break the code wall and get the DSi work, but the code being added maybe not to be completed to get the DSi console work perfectly. Of course, do not think that it can be done by anyone. If so, Nintendo does not need to do anything about the update.

How to Get the ( your current ) R4 card works on DSi V1.4.2 ?

Well, whether the flashcard works on the DSi V1.4.2 or not, it depends on the card team. Actually, some new R4 card does not have a DEV team actually. So if you are unluck to buy those fake R4 cards, we can not tell you whether it will work or how long should it take you to get it to work ?

As for AK team, we were informed that the V1.4.2 path will be released by the middle of June for current AK 2i. Later on, there will be a new AK 2i is coming out soon.

Which R4 card is the best ?

We are sorry but we can not tell. Since each R4 card has its own features, those teams keep games bug updates frequently. Before buy, you should first ask yourself what kind of function do you want to use ? Like, “i want to use Wifi automatically, Action Replay cheat,Open source code,With sleeping mode function, to extend standby time …etc.

R4i-SDHC supports DSi v1.4.2 firmware now!!!

R4i-sdhc has broken NDSi V1.4.2 sucessfully! Meanwhile, The updating patch for NDSi V1.4.2 has been released! And it can support 1.4.2 firmware upgrade perfectly.

V1.4.2 hardware upgrade：
1. First, reformatting the SD,go to www.r4i-sdhc.com to download the latest kernel 1.37b.
2.Unzip and copy the files(R4iMenu,moonshl2,moonmemo,r4.DAT) to the root of MicroSD card.
3. Go to www.r4i-sdhc.com to download the dsi(1.42) upgrade package of purple r4i-sdhc.
Unzip and copy the files(fwup142.nds ) to the root of MicroSD card.
4. Insert MicroSD card into r4i-sdhc card, insert r4i-sdhc card into nds\dsl\dsi\dsill\dsixl
5.Turn on console and press “A” button to run the upgrade file fwup142.nds. Note:When upgrading the r4i-sdhc card, it is not allowed to turn off power or pull out r4i- sdhc,otherwise it will damage the r4i-sdhc card.

R4i Gold 3DS team release upgrade patch for DSi 1.4.2 firware

R4ids gold V1.4.2 Updating Patch is released.

Attention:If your NDSi has been updated to V1.4.2 and your R4i GOLD 3DS card can not work on it.Please update your R4i GOLD 3DS card with this patch.Please read readme.txt attached firstly.Just do as the procedures listed in readme.txt .

Updating the Acekard 2i to Work with Nintendo’s 1.4.2 Firmware

PLEASE NOTE: This does not apply to any new Acekard 2i cards ordered after the 15th of September from NDS-Gear. We have updated all cards purchased after this date to work with the 1.4.1 / 1.4.2 firmware update.

NOTE: This is only for the Acekard 2i – other cards have not yet released a full upgrade that we’ve tested. Please be patient – we’ll update again shortly!

The Acekard team have released a fix for the 1.4.1 / 1.4.2 Nintendo DSi firmware. You can apply this fix to your Acekard 2i using an UN-UPGRADED (i.e. pre-1.4.1/1.4.2 firmware) DSi console, or a regular Nintendo DS Lite console.

1. Download the Nintendo DSi 1.4.1/1.4.2 software fix for the Acekard 2i by clicking this link (3.0MB).

2. Load up the software on your Acekard 2i AS NORMAL, but add the .nds files from the fix to your Micro-SD card’s root directory.

3. Run the .nds file (The DSi.nds file will work on both the DSi and DS Lite, while the DSL.nds file will only work on the DS Lite – choose the appropriate one) as shown below.

4. Select “START” when prompted by the program. Remember that this part changes your Acekard 2i’s physical firmware, and therefore you must NOT TURN OFF YOUR CONSOLE under any circumstances while the program is running. There is a small chance (we suspect about 0.1%, but mainly in case you turn off your console etc.) of damage to your Acekard 2i, so be very careful! Then wait for the program to finish.

5. Once the “Progress 100% – Update is done, reboot DS” screen shows, you may reboot your DS or DSi.

Your Acekard 2i is now ready to use with the new 1.4.2 firmware update! :-) You’ll notice that the title image on the DSi now shows
